The Public Schools of Hawaii FoundationPublic Schools of Hawaii Foundationis an independent nonprofit corporation dedicated to strengthening the quality of public education. The Foundation uses its Good Idea Grant Program to stimulate innovation and academic excellence in Hawaii's public schools. Mini-grants are awarded to teachers and schools for innovative instructional ideas that will improve student learning. From very modest beginnings, the foundation's Grant program has grown with over $1,300,000 in mini-grants being awarded over the last 10 years. The Foundation has also made travel grants to students and channeled major contributions to designated schools or projects meeting the criteria of the donor.
