HSTA BU5 Wage Reduction Calculators
Effective July 1, 2011, the Hawaii State Department of Education is moving forward to implement its last, best, and final offer. One of the key elements of its last, best, and final offer to the Hawaii State Teachers Association is a temporary approximate five percent wage reduction, accomplished through a combination of a 1.5% salary schedule reduction, plus directed leave without pay (9 days for 12-month employees and 7 1/2 days for 10-month employees) during 2011-12 and 2012-13 school years.
For 12-month BU 5 employees, the reduction will be reflected starting with their July 20, 2011 paychecks, and on the August 20, 2011 paycheck for 10-month employees. HSTA BU 5 wage reduction calculators are posted below.
